Diya Baati finds its female lead

The cat is out of the bag! The female lead who will play Anas Rashid’s love interest in Diya Baati (Star Plus) is tipped to be new comer Deepika. Our source says, “Initially it was Anas and Hina were supposed to play the leads. But now a Delhi based girl Deepika has been finalised to play the lead. She has done theatre in Delhi and this will be her debut show. The first pilot was shot last year in the month of December. Since then the shooting has been postponed. It is also heard that the pilot has been re-shot with the new star cast and the production team is planning to wrap up the outdoor shoots at Pushkar before it starts raining. The shooting is scheduled to start in the month of June.” We spoke to Sumeet Mittal (Producer) who says, “Nothing is finalised yet. It’s too early to reveal anything. But yes we have finalised Anas Rashid to play the lead.”
