Tell us about the most memorable role of your career that you will cherish forever.

The most memorable character in my career has to be from the show Kab Tak Pukaroon which was produced by my company in 1985. It had Pankaj Kapur, Pallavi Joshi and I in the show. It was based on the novel by Rangeya Raghava. I played Pankaj's wife in the show. It was a wonderful and very layered character. It was a milestone kind of a show which was made such a long time ago.

What are your thoughts on the changing content on the TV?

I have not been watching television so I won't be able to comment on it. It can be very peculiar to sound because of COVID, I was not in Mumbai and staying at my farmhouse. We don't have a television there as the farmhouse is situated in a micro-chromatic zone. It's a large farmhouse near a river and we respect the privacy of that space. I came back to Mumbai around 8 months back and have not watched TV ever since then. I do not know the content of TV but I do watch some nice shows on OTT.

A dream role you are waiting to portray on-screen?

A dream role would be one that would be created organically from thought and something which would challenge me to do many layers. There is so much. There isn't one single role that an artist wants to do. I want to perform as many roles as I can get. I played so many characters in the show Yeh Public Hai Sab Janti Hai. Every episode of the show was different and I got a chance to play brilliant characters.
