MUMBAI: Rarely does it happen that actors are able to portray grey shades but look at their characters in the most optimistic way. Shrashti Maheshwari has been a part of TV shows like Thapki Pyaar Ki, Adaalat, Divya Drishti and Raabta. She is currently playing a role with grey shades in Pandya Store and recently made a grand entry in Bal Shiv as Ajamukhi, the sister of Tarkasur. She is one such actress who has brought several dimensions into her portrayal.
Shrashti has played a variety of characters. This is not the first time she is delving into the world of mythological series. She has already been a part of 'Vighnaharta Ganesh and tried her hand at fantasy fiction with shows like 'Divya Drishti' and 'Brahamrakhshas'.
Tellychakkar Spoke to Shrashti about joining Bal Shiv', Her experience on the show, the character Ajamukhi and her role models in the industry:
We have seen many versions of Ajamukhi through different stories, what makes Ajamukhi different in 'Bal Shiv'?
Ajamukhi is a devoted sister, who loves her brother and will do anything for him, she is the kind of person who walks on hills just to see her brother reach his location safely, Her main motive is to keep her brother happy, the bond that she shares with her brother is too sweet, there is an innocence in her that comes out in regards with her brother. Even when she does wrong, the reason is always related to her brother.
How has your experience been on the show 'Bal Shiv' and playing your character so far?
I love Playing Ajamukhi for the reason that it is not a black and white character, she has a duality to her. She will do anything for her brother but she is not consciously evil because she has not known anything else. And my experience on the show so far has been really great because of the people behind the camera, there have been ups and downs but I love the creative team, the directors especially have been very supportive, they are the kind of people that help actors shine.
Who has been your personal role model or someone whose careers you really admire?
My family had been a fan of Jennifer Winget and they would watch her on 'Beyhaad' and the character especially. And I watched one episode and I couldn't stop admiring her, she brings such beauty to the story, Rajeshwari Sachdev is another actor that I am in awe of, she is just a master at everything she does and incredibly sweet. Nia Sharma is also another actor who is too graceful and just an amazing person and actor.
Shrashti Maheshwari plays the role of Ajamukhi on 'Bal Shiv', &TV airs the mythological show Bal Shiv. In the show's cast, Aan Tiwari plays Bal Shiv, Mouli Ganguly plays Mahasati Anusuya, Siddharth Arora plays Mahadev, Shivya Pathania plays Devi Parvati, Krrip Kapur Suri plays Asur Andhak, and Praneet Bhatt plays Narad Muni, and Tej Sapru.
