MUMBAI: Jay Soni made an exit from Star Plus'  popular drama series Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai a few weeks ago.

The actor who entered the show a few months ago was praised for his amazing performance. 

Jay played the role of Abhinav Sharma in the hit drama series and was seen romancing Pranali Rathod who plays the role of Akshara.

The ardent viewers are missing Jay's presence in the show ever since he has made an exit. 

While Jay has not announced any project yet after his exit from Yeh Rishta, we got an exclusive chance to interact with him where he got candid about a lot of things. 

Jay who was not that active on social media, but the viewers have seen him being more social media savvy after Yeh Rishta.

Revealing the reason behind this, Jay said, ''It's for the people who have given so much of love to me and Abhinav. They want to see me more. Till the time I don't come on TV with a new project, I have to be active on social media. I may not be in a mood during that time to be too active on social media but now that's not the case. I am a moody person. 

Revealing if he loves making reels, he said, ''I do love making reels but I am very choosy about it. If I like it then I'll do or else I'll not. I can't follow the trend just like others do. But I'll do something that I like.''

He added, ''Social media should reflect my personality. So, I choose some real stuff.''

Addressing the comparison being made between him and Harshad Chopda, Jay said, ''Honestly, I have never paid attention to all this. As I have always said, I was there to do my job. I used to always try to make my character look more good and perform well. As an actor, if I pay attention to all these things, I won't be able to perform.''

Lastly, revealing if he is only looking for lead roles or doing extended cameos, he said, ''I don't usually prefer doing short-term roles because there is not much scope to perform but if I do long-term roles, I can showcase my performance and different shades.''

He added, ''I don't mind doing a grey role. But it should be worth doing it. I would love to do a grey role. I have a chocolate boy image and imagine if a person looking so sweet will do such grey roles, people would be surprised to see it.''

Jay has clearly denied doing reality shows and said, ''I am not open to doing reality shows at all. I don't see myself doing Bigg Boss. I wish to do Khatron but I don't know when. I'll do it when the time is right. I also don't mind getting back to hosting. It was fun hosting.''
