Many things catch our eyes but it takes something special to catch our heart.”

Our Indian television has been entertaining us with a number of TV series from the beginning. But only few of them get pinned to our heart leaving us yearning for more and this one tops it all. Made to celebrate the 100 years of Indian cinema, Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon went on to become a humongous hit among the masses around the globe in a short time span. It hit the screens on 28th may 2012 on Colors TV and now here, we are celebrating the 4th anniversary of this epic show which still rules hearts worldwide. On this special occasion we would love to relive those magical moments again.

Being the first show made in the backdrop of Bollywood, it became a blockbuster series on television which bagged millions of audiences for the channel. It was the first show to open with 2.8 trps on the starting week. It’s one of the few Indian shows that ran on international platforms. It’s remade into Kannada version called Ashwini Nakshatra and its dubbed versions on most of Indian languages like Telgu, Malayalam, Tamil, etc makes it more popular within the country.

It’s dubbed versions airs on many other foreign countries like Bosnian, Serbian, Kazakistan, Arabic, Pashto, Turkish, Kurdish, in Russia with Russian subtitles and even more winning hearts worldwide. It was the first ever Indian show to hit the Serbian screens and its Arabic version tops the dubbed show trp charts. It’s re-telecast on Rishtey UK has more trps than the on- air shows. This shows the impact it created engraving its mark in Indian television history.

Not to forget the main factor of the show that made us glued to the screens were none another than the scorching sizzling chemistry of the leads Rishab Kundra (Vivian Dsena) and Madhubala Rishab Kundra (Drashti Dhami) who are known as the heavenly couple of television. They made us smile, laugh, blush, with their sweet nok jhoks and romance; made us cry on their pain, everything with those wonderful magical moments. Those were the days when everything we wanted to see was RK Madhu, lovingly named as Rishbala by fans, they had the most real intense and magical chemistry that gained immense fan following. The pair was very much appreciated by critics. Talk about TV jodi’s who are filled with passion love and romance and you can find RK and Madhu right on the top.

Madhubala, who can forget those lines which made girls blush beetroot red. The story of that kameena and his jungle billi.

What happened when a handsome arrogant egoistic superstar of nation married a beautiful middle class girl, who didn’t have any big dreams in life, just for revenge? That char phere shaadi which created headlines.

She was destined to fall in for this devil, he was destined to unknowingly fall for this angel, they were destined to be together and even death couldn’t do them apart. He had denied his love for her, betrayed her, but couldn’t bear losing her, his love, life, possession and his private property. His possessive self was back. She was his, and he was hers. ‘Tum mere ho, sirf mere’ those words from his mouth send chills down our spine.

And they got married again, this time complete one with all proper rituals. Life is not a bed of roses. Even theirs wasn’t. They had to go through ups and downs but they still made us fall in love with their imperfectly perfect relationship. Because the truth that always stayed was that he loved her n she loved him, undyingly, passionately, irrevocably. BIWI… that one call made us all ears to them.  The intensity they shared in each stare, each touch, each hug, each word each and everything thing are really unique, patented only for them.

Drashti and Vivian have performed versatile characters onscreen but as Rk and Madhu they were incomparable, and this show became a most important milestone and will remain as it in their careers. They are still remembered and wanted back by fans, one of the epic onscreen Jodi ever. The impact of these characters was such that the people address them in those names. The show and cast had won numerous awards including ITA best Jodi award and most Lok Priya Jodi award.

Popular cast such as Pallavi Purohit, Zarina Wahab, Shama Deshpande, Avinesh Rekhi, Aarti Puri, Indresh Mallik etc added to its glory. The show had original soundtrack title songs, soulful songs that really fit the couple’s love and passion and skipped our heartbeats. Hum hai deewane tere deewane still gives us goosebumps and Ishq tu hi hai mera steals your heart away while RishBala bewitched us with these. The show and couple is immensely missed and on demand. Vivian and Drashti were even voted as the most iconic hit jodi wanted back onscreen. On the completion of 4 glorious years, we thank the creatives, Abhinav Shukla, Vivian and Drashti for gifting us the best ever show and heavenly evergreen couple. We wish the cast of the show all the best for their upcoming shows. We still do hope and pray to see the handsome king Vivian and beauty queen Drashti  together again as the leads in a new show. Hoping it comes true.

Wishing you all Happy 4th anniversary of Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon.”

Thank you for the story Merliah!
