Here's what Asit Modi asked Samay Shah to do for the audition of Gogi

Samay Shah reveals how he bagged the role of Gogi in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma.

MUMBAI: SAB TV's show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma is one of the most popular daily soaps of the small screen which has been running successfully for more than a decade now. The show has developed a huge fan following across the nation and also in several parts of the world.  

Not just the TV series but the characters have also become extremely famous among the viewers.

Samay Shah who plays the role of Gogi AKA Gurucharan Singh Sodhi, is one of the most loved characters of the show. The actor plays a Sardar in the series but isn't one in real life. However, Samay has brilliantly nailed the role.

In one of his interviews, Samay revealed how he bagged the role of Gogi.  

Describing the incident, Samay said that Bhavya Gandhi, the actor who initially played Tapu's role is his cousin. Samay's mother was handling the auditions at that time. She had approached the show's producer Asit Modi about her son. Asit immediately agreed to meet Samay.  

Bhavya was also present in the office at that time. Asit called Samay and asked him to do a scene with Tapu. He told Samay to climb on a table and shout. Samay did it and he immediately signed him for the show. That's how Samay bagged the role of Gogi.
