One of the very damdaar (promising) Indian Idol contestant Puja Chatterjee was eliminated from the show last Saturday.
"It was a bit unexpected and shocking but then I thought if Deepali can be eliminated then even I can be. I failed to please the audience for votes. However, I have promised myself to make it big in the Indian film industry," says Chatterjee.

Puja had tears in her eyes as she sang Hawa hawai for the last time on the Indian Idol stage. Even the judges were shocked as she performed extremely well in the last two rounds. Alisha said that it was sad that the most damdaar singer has been voted out.
So, what's next? "I and Deepali are planning to come back and pursue further studies in Mumbai. Besides studying, we're also planning to do PHD in music. I think you need to have a good knowledge of music before carving a niche as a versatile singer," adds Puja.
So, now will Ankita who's Puja's arch rival in the show garner more votes? Afterall, with the buzz going that this time's Indian Idol will most likely be a girl.
"All good singers have got eliminated. I feel this time too it's going to be a guy, either Emon or Amit. If Ankita wins, then she won't be as popular as Abhijeet Sawant. She needs to brush up her singing skills."
It seems that Puja doesn't share a good rapport with Ankita. What if she was given a chance to choose the Idol?
"It would have been Deepali and not Ankita for sure," signs off Puja.
