Initially, I was upset with the look of my character: Udaan actress Komal Sharma

MUMBAI: Having done shows such as Diya Aur Baati Hum, Tumhari Paakhi, and Brahmarakshas, actress Komal Sharma has come a long way in her career.

After starring in Zee TV’s Jeet Gayi Toh Piya More, Komal bagged the role of Sugna in Colors’ Udaan. She plays a foster mother to Anjor, Chakor’s girl child post the leap.

Speaking about her character and the role she essays, Komal avers, ‘I was approached to play this character, and I must say that initially I was a little upset with the look of my character. I am required to sport a villager, and for the same, I cannot put on makeup. But then, as I got into the skin of the character, I started enjoying my part.’

Speaking about her rapport with her co-stars, the actress says, ‘I haven’t shot with Meera and the others, as our tracks are running parallel to each other, but I’d be more than happy to meet all of them and share screen space with my other co-actors. The environment on the set is very positive.’

When quizzed about the kind of roles she’d like to play in future, Komal stated, ‘Well, I have done shows based on kitchen politics, but I really want to play a role that is negative. I have never played negative shades, but I feel I can pull it off very well.’
