MUMBAI: Often what comes across as the easiest thing to do ends up being the most challenging task and who would know it better than Sarika Bahroliya yaani Gudiya from &TV's Gudiya Humari Sabhi Pe Bhari. Always frolicking around, the chirpy Gudiya asked to stay still for one minute to put on the Durga Maa act, and she ended up taking 11 attempts to get the shot right. Yes, you heard it right! What started as a Navratri competition between team Sarla and Harbheji, where both were to be assessed on parameters such as food menu, Mata ki chowki, rangoli decoration and presenting a unique Durga idol.
It became the real deal when upon invitation, Radhe Maa will judge the contest. Gudiya's family is helpless as they are unable to find their winning Murti. Just in time, Gudiya is disguised as Dura Maa Murti! Radhe Maa finds the statue to be exquisite and outstanding, leaving the viewers with the question of, will Sarla and her family win the contest or will Gudiya's spill the beans? Talking about her experience, Sarika shared, "Gudiya is full of life, chirpy and never sits at one place, just like my real self. Therefore, when I was asked to portray Durga Maa Murti and sit straight for a minute, it was the most challenging thing to do for me! I kept moving and shaking all the time with my eyes rolling to see who is doing what! It was hilarious and equally amusing! The entire cast burst out laughing, seeing that I could not stand still for a second, leave aside a minute! It took 11 takes to just that perfect scene.
Everyone teased me so much that Kya Hoga Iss Gudiya Ka Jo Ek Minute Bhi Seedhe Nahi Baith Sakti! (Laughs)".
