MTV to come up with a desi version of 'Ugly Betty'

After coming up with Season 2 of the thought-provoking MTV Webbed, MTV that caters to the youth is now in plans to make a desi version of the international television series, Ugly Betty. For the uninitiated, Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin which aired on Sony Entertainment Television years back was also based on this popular American comedy drama. However, what we get to hear now, is that MTV is working out things to make a younger version of Jassi through their new remake. This yet untitled show will be produced by BBC Worldwide Productions. We tried talking about the new show to the spokesperson of BBC, but could not get through. Our efforts to get in touch with Vikas Gupta, Programming Head of MTV were in vain.
