MUMBAI: Star Plus’ Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 has constantly been in the news, whether it is in regard to its storyline, people speculating on which actor is an apt choice to play the suave character of Mr. Bajaj, and whether Hina Khan will continue playing the role of Komolika in the soap.
Recently, there were reports about Hina quitting Kasautii on bagging a film. However, the actress refuted the rumours and said, ‘I had prior commitments and the production house was informed about it before I was even signed on to play Komolika. Since the show hasn’t even completed six months, the makers didn’t want my track to start and then disappear for a bit. I will start shooting for the show immediately after my film’s shoot.’
TellyChakkar got in touch with talented producer Nivedita Basu, who had been the creative director of the original Kasautii Zindagii Kay and asked her if she has been watching the new version.
She shared, ‘I did see the first episode of Kasautii at the screening of the show, and I thought it was magnanimously made and larger than life. I remember how we used to shoot in the Balaji building and still can still recall the first day of shoot. So in terms of money and magnitude, it has gone up but when we made our show, they were long-run shows and characters were uncluttered. We kind of soaked in our characters and stories in through and through. So if you ask me, I love our Kasautii and its actors.”
When asked her who according to her can play the role of Mr. Bajaj and who could replace Hina if she quits the show, she replied, ‘When season 2 was about to start, even we wondered who can play the character of Mr. Bajaj. So I probably think that Iqbal Khan can make a good choice.’
‘Talking about Komolika, the buzz that was doing the rounds before the launch of the show was that Krystle Dsouza should become Komolika. So maybe she is an apt choice.’
