MUMBAI: Mohit Raina is a well known face in the Television world. He has gained immense fame playing the iconic role of Lord Shiva in the show Devon Ke Dev Mahadev. His performance has left a lasting impression on the minds of many and he is still very much remembered for the role even today. The actor emotionally recalled how he bagged the role on the very same day as he tragically lost his father.

Mohit who made a profound effect on fans with his character of Lord dShiva in Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, recalls an incident where an elderly lady neary his grandmother’s age came to touch his feet and when he stopped her she said he had no right. He recalled the bizarre yet sweet incident and said, “She said, ‘I am not touching your feet.’ You are just the medium for me to connect with my God. You cannot stop me from connecting spiritually to him in those few seconds. That was the day I gave in, realising that I was just a medium for them. I cannot keep them away from that connection.”
Mohit also revealed how during one of the long shots for the show where he had to scream loudly with his hands open wide. He said, “At that moment, I stopped breathing and my brain did not get any oxygen. That duration passed the normal limit and I fell flat on the floor. I regained consciousness after a few seconds and realised what had happened.”

Mohti said that after playing a mythological character people found it hard to break the mold but for him it wasn’t so tough. He said, “Earlier, during Ramayan and Mahabharat, people believed these actors to be gods. But now, with social media and actors appearing at different events, that image gets broken easily. I think I was just lucky to have never faced anything like that.”
He is currently seen in the Disney+Hotstar OTT series The Freelancer
