MUMBAI: Jyoti Singh, wife of Bhojpuri singer-actor Pawan Singh, has made serious allegations against him. In a press conference, as reported by India Today, Jyoti claimed that the actor forced her to take abortion pills and subjected her to mental and physical torture.
The controversy erupted when Jyoti visited Pawan’s residence and broke down publicly, accusing him of mistreatment. Following this, Pawan Singh issued a statement on social media defending himself and questioning Jyoti’s intentions.

Pawan clarified that the police were present at his residence to maintain law and order, denying claims that he had called them. He alleged that a false narrative was being spread and accused Jyoti of creating unnecessary drama for personal gain. He also emphasized that family disputes should remain private.
In a recent media interaction, Jyoti reiterated her allegations, stating that Pawan’s public claims of longing for children were baseless since he had allegedly forced her to take abortion pills. She further alleged that he told her to end her life if she was unhappy in the marriage.
Jyoti revealed that she suffered from severe mental distress and even attempted suicide by consuming multiple sleeping pills, but survived after receiving medical attention.
She said, “He says he longed for a child, but a person who truly wants a child doesn’t give his wife medication. I was given pills every time. I hadn’t revealed many things earlier, but today, Pawan Ji forced me to speak. When I confronted him, he tortured me so much that I took 25 sleeping pills at 2 a.m.”
The couple’s divorce case has reportedly been ongoing in court for the past three to four years. Pawan, on his part, maintains that Jyoti’s recent actions are merely an attempt to seek attention.
