Prateek Shukla likes being 'hated' by the audiences

Actor Prateek Shukla started his career as a very positive man paired opposite Mahhi Vij in Shubh Kadam. From then on he got offered positive roles one after the other – Hamari Saas Leela and Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara – till he bagged Rashmi Sharma Productions’ Sasural Simar Ka (Colors). In the above show, Prateek is seen as Kartik, who has a positive image in front of the family but actually has a real dark side to him. This character has added a new feather in Prateek’s hat. In fact, he is thoroughly enjoying playing the character. “I wanted to explore myself as an actor but I had been getting positive roles because of my look. Luckily for me Sasural was hunting for a negative guy with positive looks and I fit the bill,” confessed the artist. Has the aam janta accepted him as a bad boy? “I think they have for they hate Kartik. So, it’s working in my favour.” Did he have to work really hard to get into the skin of this character? “No. I just needed the character brief from my creative and I was on.” A natural, we must admit! When asked about his bonding with his co-stars from the show, he averred, “There aren’t many people on our sets with our family being away from the Bharadwaj family but it’s all cordial. In fact, I and Aadesh (Chaudhary) share a room so, we’ve become good friends. I have maximum fun with Sanju (Sanjana) the little girl on the sets.
