MUMBAI : When it comes to performers, public opinion, their likes and dislikes is what sets you apart, says actress Raviraa Bhardwaj. She says that while this reality is tough, she has learnt to accept it now.
“Having a career in the public eye brings both excitement and vulnerability. Public opinion plays a crucial role in my success, and that reality comes with a range of emotions. As an actor, my work is constantly under scrutiny, and how the audience perceives my performances and project choices can significantly impact my career. The reality that public opinion can either elevate or challenge my career creates a sense of exposure. Knowing that people are watching and judging your work can be daunting, but it’s also highly motivating. When a project connects with the audience, it feels immensely rewarding. However, I’ve learned to accept that not everything will resonate with everyone. Over time, I’ve grown more resilient in handling mixed reactions and critiques, understanding that this is a part of the journey. Ultimately, public opinion is both a challenge and a motivator. It keeps me striving to improve, grow, and remain grateful for every opportunity where my work touches someone’s heart,” she says.
Ask her how she reacts to failure, and she says, “Failure is inevitable in any career, and I've come to terms with its role in shaping growth. I believe in being open about my setbacks, whether in interviews or publicly. Acknowledging when things don’t go as planned, whether it’s a role that didn’t hit the mark or a project that underperformed, allows me to learn and evolve. Embracing failure has helped me grow stronger and more grounded. I view it as a part of the process, not something to fear or shy away from. It doesn’t define me—how I handle it does. Sharing my experiences with failure not only keeps me honest with myself but also helps others relate to the challenges I face. It’s all about resilience and pushing forward.”
