MUMBAI: Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey met each other on the sets of 12/24 Karol Bagh in 2009. Recalling her first meeting with Ravi, Sargun said, “He was to play this mentally retarded guy; they showed me photographs of the look test, and my reaction was chee. So, I was expecting this really odd looking guy on the sets. We were to shoot the promo; Ravi knocked on my vanity door dressed in this red jacket looking cool and cute. My first reaction was- who is this cute guy? That’s when I realised he was to play my husband.”
As the show ended in 2009, the couple hit-off instantly by dating each other right away. However, they made it official only five months after keeping it their private affair.
In 2021-13, the duo participated in Nach Baliye 5 as a couple. In the show itself, Dubey proposed Sargun before the national television's coverage in the most romantic way possible, to which Sargun accepted whole-heartedly. That day itself, in an interview, Mehta revealed that she and Dubey "always shared a good bond and understanding. But after doing Nach Baliye together we understand each other professionally more.".
Finally, Ravi and Sargun tied the knot on 7th December 2013. One of their receptions was held in Pushpanjali (Gurgaon) on 9th December and another one in Mumbai, on 13th December 2013. Post-marriage, Sargun changed her name to Sargun Mehta Dubey.
As lovers, Ravi is completely naive while Sargun is just like an Austen heroine.
