MUMBAI : Earlier, there were reports doing the rounds that Karan Kundrra and Gashmeer Mahajani would be coming together for Yash Patnaik’s upcoming supernatural love story. After that, they have been searching for the female lead for their movie. Now it seems like they have finally found the actress for the job. Reem Shaikh has been confirmed as the female lead in the film after a long search. Reem had last played a role in the TV series Fanaa: Ishq Mein Marjawan which had a run of 8 months before going off television.

A source close to the project shares, “After we finalised Karan Kundrra and Gashmeer Mahajani, we auditioned several actresses for the part of the heroine. We have signed Reem Shaikh after almost a month-long search. We are quite excited about the cast, as everyone is a good performer.”

Reem has acted in several TV shows, including shows like Tujhse Hai Raabta, Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanumaan, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, Diya Aur Baati Hum, and Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi.

Gashmeer Mahajani is best known for his role on Imlie and is right now a participant in the current season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Whereas, Karan recently hosted the inaugural season of Dance Deewane Juniors which ended in July. His last appearance was in the fiction genre, in the role of Ranveer Chauhan in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (YRKKH). Soon after, he participated in the reality show Bigg Boss 15. He emerged as the second runner-up of the show, and he also won love, in the form of his fellow contestant Tejasswi Prakash. The two are committed and have been going strong ever since.
