Debojit, the singing sensation from Assam has been enjoying the adulation coming his way since he has won the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge crown on 24 February 2006. But the house in Mumbai that was promised to the winner from the stage during the finale hasn't yet materialised. The singer who has been a struggler in the metropolis, with his devoted wife also moving base with him for four years, is still waiting patiently to move into the new house. "I have seen a two BHK flat in Lokhandwala (in Andheri, suburban Mumbai) but it's taking a lot of time for them (Saregama-HMV and channel Zee) to finalise. The music company has got their broker to show me a few houses and we have liked one, but the process and internal discussion seems to be taking time." Debojit denies that it's his recording or shooting schedules that are causing the delay in choosing the right house and moving in. "I am still staying in my Malad house and if I have to travel, I call for a car to go for the recordings. I hope to get the house soon," sighs the 29 year old Debojit, who is getting busier by the day with his forthcoming stage shows, cameo appearances(in Kasamh Se) and recordings. His wife Bandana wishes to shift into a new house in April itself as it happens to be an auspicious month for Bengalis. On the other hand, Zee's marketing head Tarun Mehra offers, " We let Debojit choose a house for himself and he has liked a house. He should be in the process of shifting very soon and everything should be decided in a few days from now. He was away for his video recording so it took time. When it is ready, we will call poeple for a house warming party." Debojit recorded a song recently for a film called Kajree; besides he has sung the the title track for the new season of television show Office Office ( composed by Jolly Mukherjee). Debojit is getting offers from Himesh Reshamiya and Pritam Singh too. He is also ready to release his new album Teri Dua Se by mid April and has already shot the video for a song titled Jeena, which happens to be his personal favourite and has been shot in Darjeeling and Kolkata. The songs have been composed by Sameer and Biddu and the video also features Zee Cinestar Ki Khoj runner up Shraddha. Talking about the recently shot album, Debojit excitedly adds "I play a guy next door in the Jeena song which is a romantic number and I had a nice experience shooting with the local people. I got a lot of appreciation from everyone already," says the soft spoken Debo, who is soon going for stage shows in all over India (mainly the north east) and abroad (Bangladesh, US, UK and Canada) for two months at a stretch. Here's hoping the house warming party happens soon enough.
