MUMBAI: Actor Kunal Singh, known for his performances in Saath Nibhana Saathiya, Naagin 4: Bhagya Ka Zehreela Khel, and Pavitra Rishta 2, is all set to make his short-film debut with When We Die Again. The actor opened up about this new chapter in an exclusive conversation with TellyChakkar.com.
Kunal shared his excitement about venturing into a new format, saying, “It’s my first ever short film, and I’ve poured my heart into it. I worked intensely for 7–8 days and even attended a workshop to polish my craft. I wanted to reach a space where I felt confident enough to express myself completely and deliver my 100%.” He added that the process allowed him to explore a deeper, more vulnerable side of his acting that television doesn’t always allow.

Talking about collaborating with key names associated with the film, Kunal expressed immense gratitude. “I’m truly grateful to have a brilliant and creative director like Mudassar Khan. He has been a close friend for the past eight years here in Mumbai. Working with him feels effortless—he gave me complete freedom to perform, pushed me when needed, guided me at every step, and supported me throughout the journey. We previously collaborated on a song as well, and he has always been a gem of a person,” he said.
Kunal also revealed that stepping into the world of short films has opened up a new creative horizon for him. He shared that the format’s intensity and storytelling depth challenged him in the best way possible, helping him grow both as an actor and as an artist.
To conclude, the actor added, “I’m really glad I got this opportunity. Our film is headed to several film festivals now. Fingers crossed—we’re hoping for the best.” He also expressed excitement about how audiences will react to this new side of his performance.
