Sumedh was earlier called to play the villain!
Creator, writer and producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary's magnum opus RadhaKrishn is slated to go on air next month! RadhaKrishn marks the first mythological love story on the epic saga to be depicted on television.
With a career spanning a decade and 24 successful shows to his credit, Siddharth has a reputation of bringing in fresh faces to his show. He roped in newbie Mallika Singh to essay the role of Radha and Sumedh to play the role of Krishna. However, Sumedh was not his first choice to play Krishna.
Three movies and a couple of shows old, Sumedh was primarily known for playing negative roles and won critical acclaim for playing the lead role of a psychopath in a film. He was called in to play a dark role which became life changing for him. Siddharth shared, 'Sumedh's casting has an interesting story behind it. We had initially called him to audition for the negative lead as he's worked in the negative space earlier. However, after seeing the audition I felt that there was something about his eyes. They spoke! And hence I asked my team to do a look test for Krishna's role and once I saw that, I knew we had our Krishna.'
Siddharth's shows have proven to be a launchpad for many television actors!
Shalmali Kholgade, recognised for her beautiful songs in Bollywood movies like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya, and Ek Villian, will sing the Marathi version of RadhaKrishn’s title track.
Shalmali says, "I instantly fell in love with the soulful title track of RadhaKrishn and I knew I just had to sing a Marathi version of it. I hope it moves audiences as much as it moved me."
While the talented singer has kept us entertained with her beautiful songs all through, we really look forward to the Marathi version of RadhaKrishn's title track.

Indian audience is mature to handle bold content: Sakett Saawhney
Sakett Saawhney, who is associated with web series XXX as an associate producer, says that bold content on the web is no longer a matter of concern for the Indian audience. “The Indian audience is both mature and intelligent to handle bold content for years now. It is the content makers who have been underestimating our own audiences and being conservative. ALT Balaji is not one of them,” he says.
However, he adds that the content shouldn’t become vulgar. “Self-censorship is very important. There is a very fine line between bold and vulgarity. No censorship should, in fact, make us more responsible in making bold or adult content,” he says.
The producer says that with the quality of content improving on the web, TV viewing will take a back seat, but not instantly. “A considerable amount of audience is moving away from appointment viewing to convenient viewing. But the Paradigm shift won’t happen overnight. Content on GEC is very different from online content and I think there is enough viewership for both,” he says.
He has a few favourites on the web as well. “I personally enjoy an array of genres on the digital platform. From Gandi Baat, XXX, Yeh Meri Family and Home to Jack Ryan and Designated Survivor,” he says.
Ayush Anand is the perfect Pati!
It is safe to say that whoever is a fan of the show, Perfect Pati will know how unpredictable the lead character Pushkar is. That, in fact, is what defines him. Well, who doesn’t like a little surprise in life, right? However, this might not be the surprise that you are looking for. A complete control freak, aggressive and overprotective is what describes Pushkar and we must say that actor Ayush Anand does a brilliant job in portraying him.
Pushkar is the exact definition of a stereotypical Indian man who wants everything around him to change, while he remains still. He wants a wife who is ready to change for him, obey his demands and sacrifice for him.
Of course, to the world, he is idealistic and a perfect man. Not only is Ayush looking the part, his body language, dialogues as well as everything else seems completely in synchronization with Pushkar. There is no one who could have played the quintessential Indian husband better than Ayush.
Shamin Mannan refreshed after Goa trip
Actor Shamin Mannan is a big fan of Goa and loves going there to take some time off. In fact, recently the actor was there for a week. “Goa is like my second home, whenever I feel like unwinding that's where I go. I either drive down or hop in a flight to Goa. It was a seven-day trip this time,” she says.
Ask her what she loves about the place, and she says, “I love the carefree life here, the beach vibes, the slow and peaceful pace of days here, I’m a sucker for beaches, I can just lie down on a beach bed the whole day with a book and play in the water with the waves.”
But this time was special. “Scuba diving had been in my to do list since long. And this time I felt like finally doing it and I did,” she says, adding, “The experience was exhilarating, and I plan to do it in more deep and clearer water the next time like in the Andaman or somewhere. I saw coral reefs underwater, a seahorse and some beautiful fishes. It was surreal. I have done paragliding and I love that, I love the feeling of flying in the air, I love kayaking in the ocean and mountain rappelling.”
