Tellychakkar.com has already reported about Hats Off Productions getting back with a new season of Mahi Sagar, on Big Magic. 

We had earlier exclusively reported about the probability of the mother-daughter pair of Sarita Joshi and Ketki Dave being part of the new season. 

We now hear that the show which had Anuj Thakur playing the lead role of Sagar at the time it ended, will not be part of Season 2. 

Instead, it will be the original Sagar, Sandit Tiwari who has apparently been given the green signal by the channel and makers. 

As per a reliable source, “Both Anuj Thakur and Sandit Tiwari were approached for the new season of the show. However, with Anuj having budget issues, the role has now fallen into the lap of Sandit. However, the actor is yet to sign on the dotted lines, which is presumed to happen in a day or two.”

When contacted, Anuj told us, “Yes, I have been in talks for the second season of Mahi Sagar. The last time we had a word, there were few budgetary constraints. So I do not know the outcome of it.”

Sandit on his part, refused to comment citing, “I am in talks, and there is nothing to talk about right now.”

We dropped a text message to Producer J.D. Majethia but did not get any revert till the time we filed the story. 

The channel spokesperson remained unaware about the developments.

We hear that a promo with Dharti Bhatt aka Mahi has already been shot, and will go on air very soon. 

The drama series which gave the audience a comical blend to the saas bahu drama will now see a twist added to it with the addition of the mother-in-law to the saas...
