Sayantani disqualified from Comedy Circus

For three weeks, they charmed both the judges and the viewers with their extremely funny acts, but never did one get an inkling of the tension prevailing between actress Sayantani Ghosh and her stand-up comedian partner Kuldeep Dubey. Sayantani was disqualified from Comedy Circus 2 after her partner failed to turn up. A peeved Sayantani says, “Kuldeep failed to turn up, thereby we were disqualified. There weren’t any major tiffs but we did have few creative differences. It’s disappointing to go out like this especially after being praised for your earlier efforts.” Defending himself Kuldeep says, “There were too many creative differences and we had reached a stage where it was impossible to work together. A comedy show differs from other reality shows. You have to be completely dedicated to it. Unfortunately, I found Sayantani lacking in dedication. She used to report late for the shoots which didn’t give us enough time to prepare.” Well, it wasn’t Sayantani alone that forced Kuldeep to take this drastic step. The man from Bhopal has alleged that lot of his content has been edited. He says, “I was disappointed that in the last episode, they edited the judges’ comments on my outstanding performance. Besides, a lot of my content too has been chopped off.” Refuting Kuldeep’s claim, Vipul Shah, producer of the show says, “Kuldeep is merely trying to conjure up a good defense mechanism. Not showing up without any reason carries its legal implication and we have decided to take action against him.” When asked whether Sayantani reported to the sets daily, Vipul replied, “Actors who work in daily soaps are always running against time. Differences do exist but you need to co-exist as a team. As professionals, one must learn to adjust. What he’s done is totally unprofessional.”
