Shaktiman takes a fall

He's invincible. Or so thought everyone in the country below the age of 12. Till Mukesh Khanna, better known as Shaktiman to legions of his wide eyed fans, met with an accident while shooting for an ad film on 27 April in suburban Mumbai. The accident occurred at 6 pm when Mukesh was performing a stunt and the crane he was in, was 150 feet up in the sky. The actor had to be shown flying and then landing on terra firma. He apparently lost balance mid way, crashed down and landed on his side. Even though the actor was in pain, unit sources say he completed the shot and was then rushed to the Bombay hospital night. " Mukeshji has suffered a leg fracture and he is still in the hospital as his leg is being put into a cast today. He was in immense pain after the stunt but he refused to budge so we put a lot of ice on his leg and he got back to work. At 10 pm, we took him to the hospital , got an X-ray done and got to know he's fractured his leg," says Jai Mishra, Mukesh Khanna's personal secretary. This is the first time that Mukesh Khanna has met with an kind during a shoot. Several of his fans have had misdemenours of this kind while trying to copy stunts that Shaktiman enacts on screen. Mukesh has now been advised bed rest for at least 10 days. The actor will be unable to go to Pune on Friday for the promotion of his ongoing show Aryaman on Disney; besides the shooting for the ad film which is made by his production house (Bheeshma International) will also be stalled for a while. So, while Mukesh took the fall, it just proved that Shaktiman is fallible too!
