Shani Dev on Imagine

After Ramayan and Dharam Veer, Sagar Arts is all set to launch its third mythological show called Shani Dev on NDTV Imagine. With Dayashankar Pandey (Goli of Lagaan) essaying the main role in the show we believe that the days of the mythos are back on TV. "Yes, I'm doing the show but have been given instructions not to talk to press about it so I can't reveal any details," confirms Dayashankar. "I can just tell you that the shooting has started and hoping that the show does well," he adds further. We also called up Prem Sagar of Sagar Arts and he gave the same answer, "We have been told by channels not to speak about the show as there is a lot of time for the show to come on air." “This will a show based on Rajas and Maharajas. The role of the Raja will be essayed by Shomik, a new face and Namrata Thapa will play his wife. As the story goes further the king will be in bad shape due to Shani dev. Namrata his wife will somehow save him by praying to the lord,” concludes our khabroo Shani(Sanskrit Sani) is one of the Navagrahas which are the nine primary celestial beings in Hindu astrology (that is, Vedic astrology). Shani is embodied in the planet Saturn. Shani is the Lord of Saturday; the word Shani also denotes the seventh day or Saturday in most Indian languages. The show is tentatively scheduled from 25 July as a prime time show for an hour weekly.
