Shivanggi Verma on dealing with self-chaos amid Covid-19 quarantation

Choti Sardaarni actress Shivanggi Verma has recently tested Covid-19 positive.

MUMBAI: Actress Shivangi Verma talks about how in spite of living all by herself, she is motivating herself to stay calm.

“For almost 10-12 days my body was showing symptoms like fever, headaches and cough but my tests always came negative. I didn’t want to put anyone at risk so I immediately isolated myself. Earlier this week, my reports came positive and I felt slightly relieved but soon the whole trauma took a toll on my emotional health.”, said the actress.

Living alone in such a tough situation can get physically taxing and wreak havoc on our mental well-being. “Recently I faced one of the worst days, as my oxygen levels dropped and I started panicking. But Ripu (Ripudaman Handa, boyfriend and MasterChef India 3 winner) has been my biggest strength as he calmed me down and has been on constant video calls with me as he’s currently in New Delhi. While I’m strong and things don’t affect me easily, my confidence levels dropped when I was tested positive. Sometimes it’s also psychological as I lost on a few projects during my quarantine period. Along with Ripu my parents and sister have been my constant emotional support.”, she said.

Shivanggi further adds, “I don’t know how to cook as I can only make halwa, instant noodles, bake a cake and muffins, which unfortunately aren’t of much help to me now. I regret not learning to cook simple meals as right now I need to eat as nutritious as possible. But again, Ripu has been helping me cook healthy meals through video calls. Owing to the loss of smell and taste I can’t say the difference but I’m certainly going to keep working on my culinary skills.”.

So how is she staying positive? “I’m constantly trying to empower myself and not just lying down on the bed all the time. I post 30-second dance videos on my social media handle. I don’t exert myself but do activities like dancing, playing online games, makeup tutorials and working on my content that keeps me creatively busy and happy.”.
