MUMBAI: Telly actor Pearl V Puri was arrested on Friday, June 4, by the Waliv police, for an alleged rape case under the POCSO Act. 

Ever since the news was out, many TV celebs have come out in his support. Ekta Kapoor even shared that she has voice recordings of the victim's mother, which proves Pearl's innocence. 

Following this, the Internet has lashed out at these celebrities for coming in the way of justice. They feel Ekta and others are trying to influence the judiciary.

A Twitterati demanded for Ekta Kapoor and Karishma Tanna's arrest. He wrote, "Put ekta kapoor and Karishma Tanna behind the bars One is using her power to influence the case and other is using her power in leaking the details of the victim. Both are SHAMELESS JUSTICE OVER CELEB PRIVILEGE (sic).".

Another Twitter user slammed people for writing harsh things about the victim. "Just wondering who are supporting an accused blindly and commenting barbaric things to people who want truth to come out Neend ajaati hai kya tum logo ko raat ko? JUSTICE OVER CELEB PRIVILEGE (sic).", read the tweet.

Calling the TV celebs cowards for blindly supporting Ekta Kapoor, a Twitter wrote, "These bunch of celebs who have liked Ekta Kapoor's last post are no less than COWARDS ! Pearl V Puri was produced in the Vasai court on Saturday, June 6, has been remanded to judicial custody till June 18. Till then, he will be likely kept at the Thane jail. Lawyers for the accused actor have applied for bail which will be discussed on Monday, June 7.

Pearl V Puri made his acting debut in 2013 with Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat and rose to fame with Phir Bhi Na Maane...Badtameez Dil. He was later seen on shows like Naagin 3, Naagarjuna Ek Yoddha and Bepanah Pyaar. 

His latest stint on TV was Brahmarakshas 2, wherein he played Angad Mehra.
