Canadian RJ Sthitpragya (better known as Stith) who was one of the three finalists of Survivor India (Star Plus) has taken his bag and baggage and shifted to Mumbai. “It was always my dream to become an actor. I have just finished my acting course with Anupam Kher’s acting academy and will now start auditioning for various production houses. My ultimate aim is films but till then I will do all kind of fiction shows including saas bahu variety as well,” shares Stith with Tellychakkar.com. Coming back to Survivor, which he claims will be his last reality show, he says, “It was a great experience. I have no qualms about not winning. I had promised myself that I will last till the very end and that’s what I eventually did. I also made very good friends in Jamnadas Majethia (JD), Rajrani and Shivam.” But did your decision to vote against the eventual winner Rajrani affect your equations with her? “No, since I was upfront about it, there were no major issues; we are in contact even now.” Furthermore, Stith seems to have developed a bond with JD. “Sir and I came close during those 45 days.” However, he rejected the buzz that the former is promoting him, “I have no clue about that.” We then prodded him further about supposed game JD was playing, “Everybody was playing a game. If you say he was playing a bad one, then I don’t think so for he supported us when he realized we were better players then our rival contestants. I really can’t comment on what others say about him, as each person will obviously have a different view.” Stith has a muted response about his co contestant Timmy Narang, “He is a businessman and did what he thought was best. But I congratulate him for spending so many days in the wild.” Ask him how Survivor happened and he replies, “I had come to India for a wedding last May and another cousin of mine who had signed up for the auditions backed out and I took his place.” So why did the show never picked up in the TRP ladder? “Well, I don’t think India really connected with the concept as a large number of the population thought we never really loved that existence in the island. Many also though why should we watch people live in such tough conditions?” he ends.
