The ‘daily’ grind takes its toll on Priti and Aastha

Working in dailies takes its toll on even the most seasoned actors. Thus it’s only natural for rookie actors to fall by the way side. Aastha Chaudhary and Priti Amin, who play the lead protagonists in the yet-to-be-launched Babul Ka Aangan Choote Na and Jhoome Jiiya Re respectively, are discovering this truth.

Between the two, it’s Aastha who is finding the going really tough. The Jaipur girl had apparently fainted on the sets recently. We contacted Aastha but she wasn’t available for comment. A source from the production house informs, “She’s finding the going very tough. In fact, she shot till 5.30 this morning and is currently taking a nap. Aastha did collapse once. Actually, she reported sick to the sets on that day. Also, she’s hasn’t got used to the Mumbaiyya food as yet. Since that day, she’s been looking after herself well. The girls always find it tough in dailies.” While Priti didn’t suffer any such collapses, the Hyderbadi lass cribs about the hectic pattern of working in dailies. Says Priti, “Our producers are kind enough to give us a holiday. I took three days leave for New Year and was to catch a flight to Hyderabad on 29th December at 4.00 am. However, I kept shooting till 2.00 am and had to rush to the airport. Fortunately, I didn’t miss my flight. That meant that I was awake for 24 hours.” She adds, “There was another funny incident. We were busy shooting and during one particular shot I simply went into a trance, not aware as to what my director was telling me. My mind went completely blank for a minute or so. To my utmost surprise, when I regained my bearing my director lauded me for giving a good shot. That scene required me to look to my left and I ended up doing the same without having any inkling as to where I was. So, I asked the director did I really complete my shot?.” As they say, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
