Actor Vijayendra Kumeria who essays the role of Sooraj in Colors’ Udann finds his journey in the show to be really satisfying.
Says Vijayendra, “There has been a definite growth in the character. I started off as a negative character, and then went on to turn grey, and later to positive. I have enjoyed every phase and the layers in playing Sooraj.”
Vijayendra feels it is always a nice feeling to be entering a show that has done well. “Udann had a good start and had its loyal audience. And the icing on the cake is that the post leap story and actors have been well accepted by the viewers. Above all, we have had a gripping story line, which put the interpersonal relationships between the main characters to display. The TRP has been really impressive, and viewers have liked all the four of us. The twist during the wedding has certainly been a big shock to the viewers. And there is a lot to come.”
Talking about his camaraderie with all in the cast of Udann, the actor avers, “We enjoy our free time on the sets. We have lunch together, chat together. Our seniors are simply mind blowing, and there is so much to learn from them. The set of Udann has become my second home.”
Vijayendra played the lead in Colors’ Shastri Sisters, and this is his second back-to-back show with the channel. “Yes, the association with Colors has been great. I got to play the straight-forward guy in Shastri Sisters. I also got to be negative for the double role character in the show. And to get such a contrast character like Sooraj on the same channel motivated me a lot.”
Looking ahead, Vijayendra wants to do a good job with the transformation in his character. “Sooraj has mellowed down, and is no more the aggressive self. The phase coming ahead will yet again test me as an actor, and I am up for the challenge.”
