The latest cricketer to put his dancing shoes on is Irfan Pathan, who is all set to make a wild card entry to the celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded (BBC & Colors).
And he is not the first sportsman to shake his legs in a reality show. Before him many of his counterparts showed their dancing skills in many projects.
Surprisingly, his mate from the Indian National Cricket team Sreesanth was a part of the same reality series in the last season, so, we quizzed him about being compared with his fellow mate and the young man replied with true sportsman spirit. “There can never be any comparison between me and Sreesanth. He was a pro performer, while I am willing to accept openly that I am not a good dancer at all and I am simply relying on my choreographer for everything.”
While chatting more about his comrade in arm, his choreographer, Irfan was all praises about the lady and added, “My choreographer, Suchitra, is a graceful dancer and she knows how to handle amateurs like me. She not only has patience to provide me with enough time to learn, but also the knowledge of how to make my act look really graceful.”
Before signing off the actor also mentioned that he intends to donate the money earned from Jhalak for a noble cause of providing help to underprivileged children. The cricketer turned dancer added, “I have decided to donate the money to CAP (Cricket Academy of Pathans) foundation, which is a self funded project to help underprivileged children to provide them with cricket coaching and equipment.”
After cricket, as the young man gears up impress us with his dance moves, we wish him all the success for his new venture.
