TV audience has changed over the years: Shravan Reddy

Shravan Reddy

Good looks and intelligence, combination of these two attributes makes Shravan Reddy aka Aryan, the male lead of Colors’ show Krishndasi.

Before Krishndasi happened to him, Shravan used to believe that he is not at all fit to essay daily soap characters. When we asked him about the reason, Shravan replied, “Till my last show, I never believed that I could do GEC shows; as I felt that my physicality, my looks would never suit such characters. And this is the reason that I never gave auditions to daily dramas. Even Krishndasi happened to me at the last moment and it was a conscious decision on my part as I thought that I should try my hands on different things after doing so much youth shows.”

After gaining accolades on small screen wouldn’t you like to prefer to try your hands on web series? Shravan averred, “I believe as an actor the medium shouldn’t matter. We have different types of audience, with different types of taste and they have different platforms. As an actor my job is to perform and make my act convincing enough for them, so I am not much bothered about the medium.”

Shravan, do you think that the contents on television are changing now a day with the makers churning out more regressive contents? After a thought Shravan said, “See, I guess that it’s not about the makers changing their contents but about the audiences’ choice being changed. The class, who predominantly used to watch shows fifteen years ago, have changed completely. Now, all of us are leading an extremely busy life, where we hardly find any time, naturally they opt for shows available on digital platform. As a result the audience has now got divided and those who watches television perhaps believes in such supernatural creature. And as a maker everyone will prioritize their business than anything else, which is completely justifiable.”

Well said young man. We wish you all the luck.
