TV show's crew celebrate pre-wedding festivities with Delhiites

The team of "Satrangi Sasural" celebrated sangeet and engagement ceremonies of the TV drama's protagonists -- Aarushi (Mugdha Chaphekar) and Vihaan (Ravish Desai) -- with the show's fans here. Viewers and fans of the soap opera were also invited to the event and were seen enjoying the occasion and grooving to peppy Bollywood numbers Saturday. Donning a heavily embellished red lehenga, Mugdha was joined on stage by Ravish, who looked dapper in sherwani. The pair then danced on romantic songs and were later accompanied by their seven onscreen mothers-in-law -- Dadi Maan, played by veteran actress Farida Jalal, Tai Maa (Samta Sagar), Chachi Maa (Bhavna Balsavar), Bua Maa (Sadia Siddiqui), Mini Maa (Resham Tipnis), Maa (Sonali Sachdev) and Maasi Maa (Sheetal Thakkar). Inspired from Zee's popular Marathi show "Honaar Soon Mee Hyaa Gharchi", the story revolves around the journey of Aarushi and Vihaan, and their bonding with the seven mother figures. The show explores a unique scenario where Vihaan is raised by the seven women, who have distinct sets of expectations from their prospective daughter-in-law. Speaking about the occasion, Sorbojeet Chatterjee, marketing head, Zee TV said: "A wedding in India sets the right atmosphere for people to come together, bond and celebrate life -- and that's how we wish to connect without viewers. "With Vihaan and Aarushi's upcoming wedding, we've seized the opportunity to involve our audience in the pre-wedding festivities." Touted as a family show and not just for women, the show airs on Zee TV. (Source: IANS)
