& TV’s Badii Devrani, produced by Shashi-Sumeet Productions depicts the tale of an unusual arranged marriage between an older woman and a younger boy, and how the bitter past between their two families will take a strong hold on their future..
Well, it is a known fact that new comer Megha Chakraborthy will play the role of the female protagonist, Reeti. However, not many know that the first choice for the role happened to be Keerti Nagpure, who has earlier played lead roles in Parichay and Desh Ki Beti… Nandini.
As per reliable sources, Keerti was apparently not selected for two reasons. Firstly, the maker wanted the girl to look older than the male lead, Mudit Nayar. Also, they wanted the girl to look more Marwari, as the story and character description demanded that.
From then on, started the hunt for the female lead.
We hear that Megha, a complete newcomer was a find from the days when the unit was in Kolkata, doing their recce.
We tried calling Keerti, but she remained unavailable.
Badii Devrani launches today (30 March) at the 9.30 PM slot on &TV.
