This year has seen a number of famous faces behind the mic, doing a damn good job of anchoring shoes. From comedy shows to adventure ones to dance and drama, there have been many top anchors in 2014. Here's our list:
Kapil Sharma (Comedy Nights With Kapil):
The lad from a small town in Punjab has made a huge name for himself in Mumbai. Famous for his witty lines and vivacious personality, Sharma has been pulling in TRPs like no other. It's no wonder that every big name in B-Town is seen on the show.
Manish Paul (Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7):
He had us in splits on the dance reality show, thanks to his quick-witted words and mimicry antics. He was also a favourite with the ladies (for obvious reasons!).
Ranvir Shorey (Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7):
He might have been overshadowed by the chirpy Manish Paul, but the talented actor held his own by bringing in his deadpan humour and charm. We really enjoyed watching the duo on the show. Agree, audiences?
Gauahar Khan (India’s Rawstar):
She has been on a roll since her win on the Bigg Boss show. She carried the charm ahead by hosting Honey Singh's singing reality show. While she had little to do on the show, her stylish presence was appreciated.
Amitabh Bachchan (KBC 8):
The Baap of Bollywood created history when his debut TV show became the most watched one on the small screen. With his booming baritone and piercing eyes, he captured the hearts of a millions of his fans this season too.
Salman Khan (Bigg Boss 8):
One of the reasons the show is so popular with us is because of Salman Khan. His carefree attitude and spontaneous behaviour has the TRPs soaring through the skies.
Gautam Rode/ Karan Wahi (Nach Baliye 6):
Their chemistry was the talk of the circles as the two good looking men made the show exciting and watchable. While the dance performances itself were pretty mediocre, their timing and hosting skills saved the show from being an utter flop.
Rohit Shetty (Khatron Ke Khiladi 5):
He is known for his big-budget, no-logic movies, which was quite visible on the popular adventure show. From motivating the contestants to playfully pulling their legs, the cool dude director made hosting look easy.
Aamir Khan (Satyamev Jayate 3):
He is a superb actor, there's no doubt about that. But when he talks about issues close to his heart, there is a certain beauty about the way he delivers the dialogues. It comes straight from his heart. Is it surprising that the show has fans all over with world?
Anupam Kher (The Anupam Kher Show - Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai):
He is a good actor, but anchoring is something he has to work on. Even though we thoroughly enjoyed him on the show, we thought he was talking more about himself than his guests.
Anup Soni (Crime Patrol):
He is no-nonsense and to the point on this crime show. Despite the show being based on real life stories, Soni manages to keep the emotions out of his face and voice.
Jay Bhanushali (DID L'il Masters Season 3):
With his transition into movies, the former TV actor has become a hot property. His hosting skills have also become a talking point, thanks to the way he handles little kids and their tantrums!
Pooja Gor/ Sushant Singh/ Hiten Tejwani (Savdhan India):
In this episodic, many actors have made their marks as hosts. But it's Pooja Gor, Sushant Singh and Hiten Tejwani who have stood out. Because of the human interest stories, it's important to have hosts who can feel the emotions without going overboard.
Akshay Kumar (Dare 2 Dance):
He is known for his dare-bare stunts, and it came as no surprise when the actor was chosen as the host of a dance and adventure show. He was rather good on the show, wasn't he?
Hussain Kuwajerwala (India's Best Cine Stars Ki Khoj):
The effervescent actor was at his best when he hosted this show. Even though the series failed to do well, his anchoring skills were appreciated.
Sunny Leone/ Nikhil Chinapa (Splitsvilla 7):
He is the experienced cool dude of the show while she is the hot newbie who has made many a heart skip a beat. Their hot-cool combo worked wonderfully for the show, which became MTV's most famous show.
RJ Mantra/ Anu Kapoor/ Sugandha Mishra (Family Antakshari):
While Mantra and Mishra head the singing show with their funny antics and melodious voice, it's Kapoor's spontaneous singing that we enjoyed the most. What about you?
