MUMBAI: Anushka Sharma revealed in an interview with film critic Rajeev Masand that her web film ‘Bulbul’ will release on Netflix in June.
Produced by Sharma’s banner Clean Slate Filmz, the Netflix original is 'a period drama set in a vibrant atmosphere amid age-old beliefs and superstitions'.
Set in Kolkata, it revolves around Satya and his brother’s child bride named Bulbul. After Satya returns to his village after studying in England, he finds Bulbul serving the people of the village after being abandoned by his brother. Bulbul is touted to also have a supernatural element.
It will feature Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dimri in the lead. The exact release date is yet to be revealed.
Paatal Lok, which is also a Clean Slate Filmz production, released on Amazon Prime Video recently and has been receiving rave reviews from critics as well as the audience.

My filmmaker’s heart is full of joy. I just saw PAATAAL LOK. The best crime thriller I have seen to come out of this country in the longest time, maybe forever.
