Buddhadeb Dasgupta all set to release Anwar Ka Ajab Kissa

National Award winning director Buddhadeb Dasgupta is all set to release his next Hindi film Anwar Ka Ajab Kissa starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The story of Anwar Ka Ajab Kissa was ready around two years back but the noted director was in search of the right face to play a common man’s role. And that is when he chanced upon Nawazuddin, one of the finest actors of our times. And when Dasgupta saw Gangs of Wasseypur and Kahaani, he immediately signed the actor for his main protagonist Anwar’s character. Avers Dasgupta, “I was not finding a right face for Anwar. I waited it was after I watched Nawaz in Gangs of Wasseypur and Kahaani that I signed him. I feel he is the most talented actor in the Hindi film industry.” Anwar Ka Ajab Kissa is the story of a middle-class Muslim man Anwar working as a small-time detective in an agency. For the role, Nawazuddin had to attend a workshop. Among scores of Bengali films, Dasgupta’s earlier Hindi films include Andhi Gali and Bagh Bahadur. The Bengali film Janala made in 2009 was his last film. The film, produced by Leo Eight Pixmedia Pvt. Ltd, is currently in the post-production process.
