The legendary tales of Vikram and Betal, widely known as ‘BetaalPacchisi’, have been an integral part of our childhood years. While Betaal’s haunting look left an unforgettable impression in our minds, it was the courageous King Vikramaditya of Ujjain who rose to become the epitome of valour and honesty. &TV’s upcoming show VikramBetaal Ki RahasyaGaathais all set to bring these characters alive with a contemporary perspective with popular actor Ahem Sharrma playing the legendry King Vikramaditya.

Produced by Peninsula Pictures, with C L Saini as the creative producer and writer, the show will portray King Vikramaditya as an intelligent, brave and righteous person whose only weakness lies in his underlying egoistic traits. Playing on this very weakness, the evil Bhadarakaal will challenge him to capture the free spirted Betaal, who with every situation will leave Vikram with the difficult choice of choosing between right and wrong. Vikram will make a modern and practical choice after every challenging situation posed to him by Betaal.

Known for his acting prowess along with an ability to bring variations in the roles he plays, the engineer turned actor, Aham has worked with some of the most well-known faces in B-town and been a part of multiple television shows in the past.  The actor especially catapulted to fame after essaying the role of Karna in the mythological show Mahabharat. Pairing up with Makarand Deshpande who will play the iconic Betaal, the duo is ready to deliver important life lessons through these memorable tales.

Talking about the nostalgia associated with these stories, Ahemsays, “Stories of Vikram and Betal are a memorable part of my childhood and I remember how King Vikramaditya’s courageous acts left me in awe. With regards to &TV’s VikramBetaal Ki Rahasya, I’m particularly intrigued by the treatment of the show wherein the classic stories will be magnificently reprised and the narrative of the show will be in sync with the contemporary audience and relevant circumstances of today's times. The audience will get to know more of the character of Vikramaditya than what they knew before and the messages conveyed after each show will bring about a positive impact in the life of the viewers. It's a huge responsibility to narrate these stories to the young Indian audience with the same conviction and I hope we will be able to do so effectively.”
