During the month of Ramadan, iftar (breaking of the fast) becomes a special time, as Muslim keep a strict fast all day and break it at a very special time. Iftar is usually done with family and close friends, but this time Ashiesh Roy, aka Ashok of Star Plus Show Mere Angne Mein had organized an iftar party for the poor and needy people at Md. Ali Road, Mumbai.
On Monday evening, people in the area were pleasantly surprised to see Ashiesh standing in front of his car pulling out packets of meals to distribute before iftar time.
The actor personally distributed iftar meals to the poor and needy just like an ordinary man.
Ashiesh not only gave them dates, fruits and water but also provided them with kababs, vegetable spring rolls, and a bowl of warm lentil soup and faluda so that the poor could too enjoy a proper, ritualistic iftar meal.
“It gives a great joy and happiness in distributing iftar meal packets to my poor and needy Muslim brothers. This is my way of celebrating Ramdan. I want to do good for our community. Although I am Hindu by birth, I celebrate festivals of other religions too.”
The humanitarian cause by Ashiesh is greatly appreciated by his fans.
