Legal battles are murky!!!
And the Shilpa Shinde-Bhabhiji controversy is murk personified.
For the late bloomers, Shilpa played the popular role of Angoori in &TV show, Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai, produced by Edit II Productions.
Things went out of hand, Shilpa and the makers got into a slugfest and after an arduous ordeal, Shilpa was let go, and Shubhangi Atre was welcomed as the new Angoori.
Par drama abhi baki hain mere dost...
As per latest information, Shilpa has taken the legal route and filed a police complaint day before yesterday at Bangur Nagar Police station against three prominent industry bodies, namely, CINTAA, IFTPC and FWICE, a development confirmed to us by Shilpa. The charges are that of defamation, criminal conspiracy and extortion. Earlier, all governing bodies jointly passed a ‘non-cooperation directive’ against Shilpa, a disciplinary action asking Producers to not sign the actress for new projects if she did not return to Bhabhiji on amiable terms.
The move made Shilpa aghast and now she is up in arms against the institutions.
Holding a press conference yesterday at a suburban hotel, Shilpa greeted the media along with ex-CINTAA member Arif Sheikh.
Stating that the bodies have been utterly unfair to her during her battle with Bhabhiji makers, Shilpa also hurled a number of other accusations at them.
Talking to the media Shilpa stated that CINTAA which was formed to support actors have deviated from the primary goal. “They asked people not to work with me. They said I throw tantrums on the sets, but when have they seen me doing it? Whenever I have approached them to get any clarity, I have received zero response.”
Shilpa and Arif also blamed CINTAA for not keeping enough checks on the sets for producers ill-treat actors. “The kids are not given proper food and time to study on the Bhabhiji sets. This is inhuman. And even when I informed the bodies of the same, they never took any heed of it. I am ready to help every artist in their fight with these bodies,” she vowed.
The actress also stated that she was subjected to torture and extortion by her producers and the bodies chose to give her a cold shoulder. Shilpa has, thus, decided to fight legally and file a police complaint against them for deciding to ban her, even though she did no wrong.
Like they say, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!!!
To get other side of the story, we spoke to Sushant Singh, Chairman, CINTAA, and he said “We have always worked in an unbiased way and will continue doing so. If Shilpa has been tortured and she can give us proofs of the same, we will surely take strict actions. But I really hope that it is not a fake blame game, or else we will have to look into it strictly.”
Producer J D Majethia from IFTPC on his part said: “If industry bodies have decided something, it is in compliance with the legal directives. I cannot comment anything any further as of now.”
Dilip Pithwa, General Secretary, FWICE, commented: “I know she held a press conference but on what basis did she file a police complaint? Extortion case against us? The producers can file extortion case against her as she tried to get more money by using arm twisting tactics. We have received a copy of the notice and will plan our future course of action.”
As per the law, once a complaint is filed, the other party has to respond within the next 15 days.
