A daily dose of Eva Grover

Eva Grover has done lots of comedy and weekly shows and now she is back with Sony's Waqt . Not many know that this is her first daily soap on television. We wonder what took her so long to take up a daily. "I was waiting for a good weekly offer but understood that today it's the trend of the daily, so I have gone for one," says Eva. "I'm back after a long maternity break. It feels good and working on a daily is all together a new experience," she adds.

Eva is, for the first time, essaying a negative role. "I was slotted in a comedy category but I wanted to experiment and so as soon as I got this offer, I jumped at it. The concept of Waqt is very good. My character is out and out negative. I misguide everybody in the family. People have loved my performance. I have received a lot of appreciation," she says. Ask her how she prepared for the role and she says, "I've not done any king of homework for this. I don't imitate anyone. I have worked on my inputs for the character and people just love it." Eva has a one-year-old daughter, Ayaana. "It becomes difficult to handle both the house and work but somehow I manage it. Initially, I tried to work for limited hours but being in a daily I realised that it's just not possible," she says. Sometimes her daughter keeps her company on the sets. "When I'm shooting my mother takes care of her. I really thank my family for the full support. My driver sometimes brings her on the sets and if my mother is free then both of them (my mother and my daughter) accompany me during my shoot." And what has she decided on her daughter's future? Will she be following her mother's footsteps into this glamorous world? Eva giggles and says, "She is just one. To be frank I would like her to study well and do something intelligent." Eva has a liking for a music-based reality show. "If I receive any such an offer I would love to do it. I was always fond of singing. Though I never did it professionally I sing whenever I get time." But right now, for Eva, the waqt seems right only for a lullaby!
