EXCLUSIVE! 'I had begun my career as an anchor with Dance India Dance' Jay Bhanushali on reuniting with DID, his acting plans and more

have struggled for it, I want to do those romantic scenes, rain sequences and more. All the shows that I have done till now, have done wonders so the responsibility comes with it that now whatever I pick must at least look good on paper and script, I might be wrong as there is no said formula for a hit show but yes, I am keen on returning as an actor and hoping that shall happen soon.

We got in touch with the dapper to know about his perception of Reality Shows, homecoming with Dance India Dance and more. Well, Jay has given us some noteworthy answers and we advise you mustn't miss them for sure.

Coming back to DID, how has the journey been?

The journey has been fantastic, I am one of the luckiest anchors who got a chance to start a show which has been running for so many years. I get that feeling of beginning a film and that film gets to bring numerous sequels. DID was my first show and it will always stay your baby, even after not being a part of the show for some time it still felt like DID has always been my show, it feels like home. It has been amazing to be a part of the show which was the first Indian Television Reality show which gave chance to the commoners. I was new, Remo, Terence and Geeta were experienced but the viewers didn't know them yet, I believe the only known personality we had was Mithun Da. After these many years, we see how the show has changed our lives. In the history of Indian Television and Zee TV, I am sure that my name would be added with Dance India Dance being the first reality show for the common people in one of the major chapters.

How do you perceive Reality Shows, as a host and as a participant?

I am comfortable participating but anchoring is something that I love. I really like being a participant but I feel I haven't left any reality as I have exhausted all of them by now. The best feeling is that every time I leave a show, I have another one waiting. Just recently, I was offered two shows and I was really delighted to know that both the channels were eager to have me. I am glad that I still get called again and again for shows. I love being on stage, I love being the centre of attraction and focused on. I was the one who began with solo anchoring, earlier, there were pairs with one boy and girl or two boys. To date, I have never been offered to host with a partner so it makes me have a responsibility of being their captain of the ship so I make sure that whatever is expected, I always fulfil it.

It has been a while we have seen Jay as an actor, are you keen on exploring projects apart from Television?

Definitely, I am looking for good Projects, intact, I have been offered a couple of shows but somewhere it hasn't been materialised yet. I am super excited as I have always mentioned that I am an actor before being an anchor. I became an anchor because of my previous work as an actor so yes, Initially, I  had never been ambitious about being an anchor but an actor. I cannot forget my roots, I have struggled for it, I want to do those romantic scenes, rain sequences and more. All the shows that I have done till now, have done wonders so the responsibility comes with it that now whatever I pick must at least look good on paper and script, I might be wrong as there is no said formula for a hit show but yes, I am keen on returning as an actor and hoping that shall happen soon.
