Jaswinder Gardner has entered the show as Queen Mainavati and Jaswinder has had a long-standing relationship with Swastik, having been an expert in the field of Mythological shows.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the actress to talk about her role, her association with Swastik and more

Tell us about your character Mainavati a little bit more.

So, Mainavati is Parvati’s mother and Himavan’s wife, who is the King of the Himalayas, and I am playing the role of his wife she is a very soft person, very loving and very warm and they have other kids too, and even Ganga is one of their daughters but Parvati is the youngest, so she gets more affinity. We see Mainavati, being quite concerned about her marriage, even though she was a Shiv Ji Bhakht when Parvati was born, so Devi Devta’s appeared and congratulated them and blessed the girl. And even after everything she does not want her daughter to get married to Shiv, because of what happened to Sati, because he was married before, and of how things turned out to be.

So here also she is determined not to get her daughter married, though she loves her and she knows that like you know, Parvati has a soft corner for Shiv and she wants to get married. But she is also an obedient daughter who will not against her family’s decision even though the father is on her side. But as a mother, she's very concerned at home. I don't want my daughter to suffer in her married life because he had a bad marriage earlier. She is a doting mother.

Was there any hesitation? Was there any twice thinking twice or anything like that? Did you just say yes or show up immediately when it was offered?

When this role was offered to me, I was very keen to do it. First of all, because I was going to be playing Parvati’s mother and I have been associated with Swastik production for a long time. I was playing Kaushalya in their previous show, Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush, So I've always had a very good experience. Before that, I was in Rajya Sultan and Suryaputra Karan, where I played pivotal roles and shows. So they always offer me a very good role, now whether or not the roles are long or short, that doesn’t matter. What is important is how important is the role and what impact you can have on the audience. So this is a beautiful role, the way they have portrayed me is also so beautiful. The whole attire, the roop, the dialogue, the scripting, and the whole feel of the show. But I'm always very comfortable with the the roles they offer me because they always offer me very good roles, so even this time I was very, very happy about the role.

The show has had a quick rise to the top charts, having worked with Swastik before, what do you think makes the difference?

The thing is that the way they are beautifully projecting every character and if you see the casting also is being done so that every character fits the role they are doing. Every single actor being cast is perfectly suited to the role and there is so much effort to make everything in sync and perfect and tell this great story. Everything is being very minutely taken care of and also the performance at the I mean the actors' performance is very good. And I guess the combination of it all together is touching the hearts of the audience. And we cannot overlook the storyline in the scripting, the dialogue, everything is so beautiful, and gracious!

Jaswinder is currently seen in the show, Shiv Shakti: Tap Tyaag Tandav on Colors.
