Latest reports coming in is that the Lodha panel today declared IPL teams Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals as guilty of the spot-fixing scandal. It has proposed a two year suspension for both from the game.
The RM Lodha-led committee, which also includes former judges Ashok Bhan and RV Raveendran, declared the ‘quantum of punishment’ on Gurunath Meiyappan and Raj Kundra and their respective teams.
As per reports coming in, the two owners have been banned to participate in any cricketing activities for life.
The players of both the franchisee though are free to join any team. IPL COO Sunder Raman is still under the scanner and yet to give a clean chit.
Justice Lodha also mentioned that since Meiyappan was integral part of CSK,he ought not to have indulged in corrupt practices.
The suspension is to take in effect from today.
