MUMBAI: Hand hygiene is one of the most effective ways to reduce the spread of pathogens and prevent infections. On 'Global Handwashing Day', &TV's artists Swati (Tanvi Dogra) of Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kathayein, Daroga Happu Singh (Yogesh Tripathi) of Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, Vibhuti Narayan Mishra (Aasif Sheikh) of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai and Pappu (Manmohan Tiwari) of Gudiya Humari Sabhi Pe Bhari share the importance of maintaining good hand hygiene. Aasif Sheikh says, "One of the first few lessons we learnt as children were to wash our hands to keep diseases at bay, but as we grew up, we almost forgot its importance. This year we not only relearnt this lesson but also learnt that proper Handwashing not only reduces the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), it can prevent the spread of other viral illnesses such as cold and flu." Tanvi Dogra added, "Washing hands is a 20 second practise, but it has the power to protect people from respiratory infections, eye infections, in addition to reducing the spread of COVID-19. Though people clean their hands with water, that is not enough. Using soap or handwash helps get rid of germs. This Global Handwashing Day, let us make it a point to wash our hands thoroughly and maintain good hand hygiene." Yogesh Tripathi said, "Washing hands properly at regular intervals seems simple, but one of the most effective ways to remove germs. While there is no daily quota of Handwashing prescribed, you should unforgettably do it at regular intervals. The power is in your hands, use it wisely." Manmohan Tiwari concluded, Handwashing is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your family from getting sick. A lot of people do not wash hands the correct way. Minimum 20 seconds of washing hands with soap and water is all it takes to keep various infections at bay. Handwashing is indeed the easiest and powerful weapon against germs."
