Media speculation regarding the time slot of Sony Entertainment’s new show
Shubh Vivah produced by UTV can now rest. Credible sources have informed Tellychakkar.com that the soap – starring Eijaz Khan, Rakesh Bedi, Vinny Arora, Vinay Rohrra, Neha Janpandit – is all set to hit the screens at the 8pm slot. Furthermore, it has also been reported that the serial will go on air from 27 February 2012.
Now, there is a twist in the tale. Shubh Vivah bagging the 8pm slot would mean that Rajan Shahi’s Kuch Toh Log Kahenge will either be chopped or be shifted to a different time slot (as it is currently being aired at the 8pm slot and has a repeat telecast at 11pm, where it gets a good traction). Well, our sources have informed that it will now be completely shifted to the 11pm slot and its 8pm slot will be scrapped.
“Kuch Toh Log Kahenge is not getting good numbers at the 8pm slot as the mature audience is not home by that time. The show is about a young girl falling in love with an elder man. Hence, it might be placed at the 11pm slot,” admitted Virendra Shahane, Head of Fiction, SET, at a conversation earlier with Tellychakkar.com.
Furthermore, rumours were making rounds that with new shows making their way into the screens, existing shows on Sony, namely Kuch Toh…and Dekha Ek Khwab might bite the dust. But clearing all air, Sneha Rajani, Sr. EVP and Business Head, Sony Entertainment Television, recently went on tweet, “KTLK (Kuch Toh Log Kahenge) & DEK (Dekha Ek Khwaab) will continue. No show is being hacked.”
Hmm…that pretty much answers all doubts. Good for the viewers that both shows, Dekha… and Kuch To… which look promising, will survive to entertain the masses. But it is confirmed that Kuch To… will now be seen at the 11 pm slot.
“The above change which will come into play from the next month as right now having two slots is quite confusing for the audience." the source went on to say.
Kritika Kamra aka Dr Nidhi told us that she has not been informed about the change yet but it certainly sounds “logical’”. However, Karan Wahi-who plays Rohan in Kuch To – confirmed via sms that the serial will now be aired at the 11 pm slot.
Hope the time slot change will help to hike up the soap’s ratings!!!
