Even a popular face from a popular youth-based show couldn’t alter the destiny of Star Plus’ Mitwa – Phool Kamal Ke. The show was launched amidst much fan-fare with Splitsvilla 2 runner-up Mohit Malhotra and Tanvi Bhatia along with renowned faces like Shahbaz Khan, Swati Chitnis and Nigar Khan playing pivotal roles in it. But now the buzz is that the show is soon going off-air owing to its poor ratings. The channel has even introduced a family in a hope that the show would pick up. The show did see a rise in TRPs but it wasn’t up to the mark. And hence the channel has decided to pull it off. Informs a source, “The show never enjoyed success and has always been a slow-runner in the race with the show airing at the same time-slot on the rival channels. It registered its highest when Vineet Raina and Malini Kapoor’s track was introduced but it seems the channel isn’t too happy with the development and has finally decided to pull of the show. The buzz is that Sphere Origin’s Tere Mere Sapne, which again has been a dampener, will come in place of Mitwa and Hats Off’s tentatively-titled Four Sisters, will take Tere Mere Sapne's slot. These changes are expected to happen by this month-end.” When contacted both Nigar Khan and Tanvi Bhatia rubbished the rumours and said, “We aren’t going off-air.” Saurabh Pande, male protagonist of Tere Mere Sapne, too sounded clueless about any change in the time-slot of his show. But Business head of BAG films Nilanjana Purkyestha confirmed the news of the show going off-air.
