Pioneer English news anchor Luki Sanyal dies at 75

Luku Sanyal, an anchor and panellist with one of the leading news channels of India, passed away at the age of 75, a news site has reported.

She was said to be admitted at a city hospital. Luki was one of the most important figures in English news, known for her impeccable diction and voice, the site added.

After doing plays for the All India Radio since she was 13, Luki shot to fame when she was chosen to share a panel with eminent theatre personalities like Dolly Thakore, Partap Sharma, Gerson DaCunha and Nirmala Matthan as a newsreader, the site added.
