MUMBAI: Seeing Dhoni bat or Virat bowling or fielding, we often think, ‘I can also do what they are doing. It’s not that difficult.’ But believe us when we say that these celebrities have struggled hard to reach where they are today. The same goes for B-town and television celebrities.
Acting is not only about facing the camera but also giving up one’s routine. An actor’s job might seem easy, but there is a lot of hard work that goes behind acing a look and mastering a role. Swastik Productions’ magnum opus show Porus will now be seen getting into a linear story line with Chandragupt Maurya.
Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s show will see actors like Saurabh Raj Jain (Dhananad), Tarun Khanna (Chanakya), Sneha Wagh (Chandragupt’s mother), and Kartikey Malviya (Young Chandragupt) in lead roles.

With a stellar cast and a story to share with the audience, the actors are all set to rule the TV screens. In a candid chat with TellyChakkar, talented actor Tarun Khanna shares the biggest struggles he faces as a part of the show!
As the shoot of the show is happening in Umergaon, Gujarat, the actors need to stay there itself, as wrapping up the shoot and heading back to Mumbai late in the night and then coming back according to their call times is not an easy task. Hence, the cast prefers staying in Umergaon only. However, amidst all this, we have the intelligent Chanakya juggling his personal and professional lives.
‘My wife can’t be here in Umergaon with me, so I am staying here all alone in Gujarat with the cast, and the time is not far away when my beloved will leave me, as I am barely home,’ Tarun said.
The actor further added, ‘I did ask my wife to come here and stay with me in Gujarat, but you can’t blame her for not coming, as there is nothing to do here in this place. Now, at least the number of shops has increased, but the mode of entertainment is not there in Umergaon.’
He concluded with humor: ‘That day ain’t far away when the news of my wife giving me a divorce will be out’ (chuckles).
TellyChakkar hopes nothing of that sort happens with you, Tarun. We wish you all the luck for your journey in Chandragupt Maurya.
