Tushar Dalvi takes 4 hours to get into his Sai Baba avatar

MUMBAI: Good things take time. The quality of patience came to best use for actor Tushar Dalvi during his depiction of the character of Sai Baba in the show Mere Sai- Shraddha aur Saburi. The show recently took a leap of several years and actor Tushar Dalvi replaced Abeer Soofi as the new Sai Baba. Audiences have loved his depiction of the character but now a new revelation has been made about the actor’s look process. It daily takes Tushar 4 hours to get into the look of Sai Baba.

Sony Entertainment Television’s Mere Sai- Shraddha aur Saburi has always been known for its realistic depiction of Sai Baba’s life journey and his miracles. After more than 2 years of its launch the show is now portraying the third phase of Sai Baba’s life, that is his old age. While the actor had to do great preparations for getting into his role, working on his body postures, speech, pauses and more, the actor daily has to spend huge time for getting in his look. While the Sai guise looks simple, it is not so for Tushar who daily has to spend time for getting his elderly look. Along with the face that needs work like getting wrinkles, beard, his hair color needs to be changed too. And with the hair we don’t just mean the hair on his head, but all the visible patches of his body hair too need to be done.

Speaking about his look Tushar Dalvi shared, “It is never easy to get into such an iconic character and I had to prepare a lot. I had to practice the dialogues with poise and work on my body language but trust me, the biggest challenge is of getting into the look daily which requires close to 4 hours. I have to reach on the set by 7 am to start the shooting by 11 am and this actually is the real test of my patience. We daily do the same drill of makeup like giving my skin an aged look and coloring hair patches. But, yes patience gives a good fruit always and this character is worth all.”
