There is a lot of anger among people who are frustrated with the government and its lack of proper governance. And the sentiment is no different amongst your favourite TV actors.
It is time for a social change. Yes, we are talking in perspective of the shameful Delhi gang rape case. And earlier in the day the country and the world rose to disheartening news of the girl breathing his last in the hospital in Singapore where she was being treated. Since then, a wave of protest has engulfed the Capital, Delhi, and also the entire nation. There is a lot of anger among people who are frustrated with the government and its lack of proper governance. And the sentiment is no different amongst your favourite TV actors. “I have been depressed over this incident since the past few days, hence did not even celebrate Christmas. You only can’t blame the government as the devil is in our psyche. Rapes will happen what needs to be done is to ensure speedy and effective justice,” said Ragini Khanna adding, “I can’t understand why men need to rape when it is not that difficult to get laid as time has now changed.” Pooja Bedi on the other hand squarely blames the government as she tweeted, “boycott Republic Day celebrations "NO SHOW". Peaceful protests r attacked why crowds should gather 2 hear politicians at their convenience?” Ram Kapoor also used the social networking platform to vent. “If an innocent girl has to DIE for our country to wake up....then I'm sorry but I'm NOT proud of being an Indian today!!! What a shame!! For the first time in my life I don't feel like living in my own country. I don't feel like raising my children (my daughter) in this country!” This urgent need to change patriarchal societal system where men are given more preference is gaining currency and Ridhi Dogra tweeted about the same, “WIVES - Stop treating your husbands like some 'devta'!! and SISTERS - Stop looking at your brothers for dependency.” Nach Baliye 5 (Star Plus) contestant Smita Bansal who is a mother of a 9 year old is very unhappy at the blanket coverage of the incident across news channels. “It gets very difficult when your child asks you what rape is. I and my husband avoid talking about it when she is around. Media needs to be sensitive about the wrong messages which can reach the impressionable minds.” However as a woman Smita felt that, “it is high time that change is brought about.” “We need army rule for the present lot of politicians is so out of touch with ground realities. You hear their arguments and you wonder which world do they live in?” Gurmeet Choudhary averred, “I am really hurt and pained. I am brought up with a very strong sense of respect for women. Even in dreams this kind of inhumane act is beyond imagination. I wish and hope that the government extends harshest punishment on public forum to set an example for animals in human form roaming freely in our society.” This indifference of politicians is also making others lose their trust in the democratic system. Sara Khan went on to share on BBM (Blackberry Messenger), “Jus imagine when we gather to protest Fr our rights its a crime ,, when we gather Fr the truth its a crime ,when we gather to fight Fr our life its a crime .. The government sucks .. N smwhr we r only making that government to rule .. so y r we doing that .. We don't need their support .. They need our votes n , they need us .. I m not gonna vote or participate anywr .. I feel every1 shud ... (sic) ” Delhi boy and Nach Baliye host Gautam Rode shared, “While I am not denying that several such heinous incidents have happened in the capital it is not helping to call the Delhi the rape capital and labeling all Delhities. You need to understand that there is a large floating population of migrants. I also say give the Ba****S the most severe punishment and how. ” He further added, “I wish to say as a Delhi boy that if you see the protests, a large number of guys are there with the girls demanding basic security and prompt punishments which will help to control this social scourge.” In closing, veteran actor Anjan Srivashtav stated, “It is so sad that certain Indian citizens are becoming animals. We need to introspect as to what is going wrong?” He also blamed the film industry and especially internet for spreading pornography. “A large section of our population is still uneducated and therefore not mature enough to handle adult content. We theater and film personalities are taking out a protest march this evening at Juhu. Please join us if you can.” Go ahead and share your views in the comment section below!!!
